Daniel is the coordinator of a weaving group in the ancient weaving community of Hualhaus, located just outside Huancayo, and we have been collaborating with him for 8 years. Daniel first learned to weave at the age of 10 and has now flourished into a weaver who is instrumental in interpreting clients’ designs and who provides us with in depth knowledge, and has produced new experimental weaving techniques. Daniel started by producing our clients’ design briefs by himself but now, through the support of ITV Peru, has expanded his enterprise, creating a successful weaving community, which now employs 10 weavers who we keep fully occupied.
