We have been working with this family of basket weavers located on the outskirts of Lima for many years now . They make the baskets from a natural reeed called "Junco " and dye this to the colors required themselves .
There are three generations involved in the production with the eldest active basket weaver being just over eighty . I need to mention here too that all children of school age do go to school and only participate in the family business once they have compleed their studies . The family have strict rules about this .
