Hand Woven Baskets

We have been working with a family of highly skilled basket workers living on the outskirts of Lima for several years now ,and have proced some spectacular basket s and handbags for our clients 

Three generations are involved in the basket making ,the eldest active weaver now being 80 years old . This picture was taken when they were woking on our AwA project . I would like to mention that although a large porcion of the family dedicate their time to this they are also very insistent that the children go to school and learn other skills and only enter the family business if they want to once they have completed their schooling
