Huancayo is referred to as the cultural heart of the Peruvian Andes Mountains. It is situated at an altitude of 3, 300m within a lush valley of the Peruvian highlands. The hand knitting cooperative we work with in Huancayo employ the ancient hand knitting techniques acquired from their Inca ancestors with modern accessory designs . We have been collaborating with this community for over 15 years now and they are probably the oldest establish hand-knitting community, which Trading Ventures collaborates with. Over the 15 years we have continuously provided the community with employment for their knitting skills, and they have been used for a majority of our clients. They produce some truly stunning knitted accessories .
